Apple Creek Farm, Bowdoinham

Apple Creek Farm is an organic livestock farm in Bowdoinham Maine owned and operated by Abby Sadauckas & Jake Galle. Their farm crew assists with the day-to-day farm management and helps to complete projects that will support the farm over time. The farm markets diverse livestock products year-round at farmers’ markets, through CSAs and local foods markets near Brunswick Maine. 2025 is the farm’s 11th season. The farm is located on two primary properties and leases additional acreage throughout Bowdoinham and in Brunswick.   

Compensation & Hours: A two-week paid trial period will begin from date of hire. Starting hourly pay between $18-20 based on abilities and experience. Additional compensation includes $35 worth of farm products each week, accrued paid time off, and workers compensation insurance.  

This position is part-time (20 hours) in April & November. The position increases to full-time (40 hours) May – October. Our ideal schedule would be five 8-hour days. This role does include some Saturdays and Sunday, but the goal will be to ensure two days off each week. The work schedule will be set monthly with consideration for time off and on-farm needs. There is opportunity for hours, rate of pay and length of employment to increase as the farm plans to attend seasonal, weekend markets and events throughout the year. 

Housing is not offered as part of this position, though we will assist you in finding local housing or additional employment if desired. 

Dandelion Spring Farm, Bowdoinham

Located 40 minutes north of Portland, Maine, and close to many towns in the Lewiston, Litchfield, Gardiner, region. This diversified farm worker position prioritizes harvest, washing, and packing, constituting at least half of your time. The remaining half is dedicated to tasks like planting, irrigation, weeding, and other field details. Our days are diverse, yet we maintain a structured rhythm throughout the week.

Availability: Part time positions open for Wednesday - Friday employment from April 30 through November 21st.

Anticipated Hours: 7 AM - 4 PM

Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $18-$19/hr based on experience.

Fairwinds Farm, Bowdoinham/Topsham

Fairwinds Farm is a second-generation farm that produces a variety of vegetables, fruit, dry beans, popcorn, grains, maple syrup, fruit spreads, as well as offering customers ornamental décor such as Spring annuals, Christmas trees and wreaths. This full-time position would be 4 days per week 8:45am-5:45pm. The Farm Stand is open May through December and Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday 9:30-5:30 and Saturdays 9:00-4:00.

Early-May until Thanksgiving. The hours are 7am- 4pm Monday through Friday, with a change in hours from late-June to mid-August, working 6am-3pm. We offer year-round employment to a smaller group of employees who can commit to a full second year of full-time work on the farm (or beyond). We hire several part-time employees for the summer months.

We pay employees a starting wage of $18/hour. We have a paid 1/2 hour lunch break around noon each day for employees working a full day. (Employees should bring their own lunch.) The work primarily includes planting, weeding, harvesting, and washing and packing vegetables for sale. Much of this work is done by hand.

G2G seeks a hard-working and upbeat farmer to work alongside our Farm Director, other G2G staff, and community of dedicated volunteers and students of various ages, interests, and abilities. Our ideal candidates have experience with organic no-till farming and are excited to grow both food and community. They have a warm and inviting demeanor and are excited about regenerative farming and growing high-quality produce.

Availability: Mar-Nov – 15-30 hrs/wk
