Community supported agriculture and aquaculture, CSAs, are an easy way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from farmers, fishermen and other producers/harvesters! Check out this video to learn more. Below you’ll find a list of area businesses that offer a variety of CSA options to community members like you. Some CSAs are set up as credit to use at farmers’ markets, while others offer home or office delivery of boxes each week, or on farm pickup. Some are year round and some are seasonal. Each CSA program operates differently so please click the links below to learn more and find what works for you.

  • Two Coves Farm - A meat CSA includes pasture raised beef, lamb, pork and poultry. Animals are sold by the whole, half, quarter as well as various assortment packages.

LISBON & LISBON FALLS

  • Little Ridge Farm - Organic produce shares or beef, pork and turkey shares available. Summer, Thanksgiving, December and Winter share options.

  • Chirp Creek Farm - Organic veggies and herbs (June - October)

LEWISTON

  • New Roots Cooperative Farm - Chemical free vegetables and fruit (July - October, full and half season share options). By supporting New Roots Farm Cooperative, you are also supporting refugee farmers in Maine! EBT and SNAP customers welcome.

NOBLEBORO

  • Spears Farm - CSA balance can be used at their Waldoboro and Nobleboro farmstands and the two spring-fall markets they attend in Brunswick.

RICHMOND

  • Tender Soles Farm - Organic veggies, seedlings, herbs and flowers (June - October). Richmond School and Town Staff receive $10 off shares. Customers with SNAP benefits qualify for 1/2 priced shares. Qualified Seniors receive $50 free vegetables.

TOPSHAM

  • Whatley Farm - Market Debit CSA (You can sign up any time, use your CSA account until you run out of money, and then sign up again - shop at their online store, the farmstand, or at the farmers market) or SNAP CSA (Sign up by visiting us at any of our farmers markets, or emailing. Each time you shop with us at market using SNAP/EBT, you will only be charged half of the cost of your fruits and vegetables from our stand. The other half is covered by grant funding from the Maine Harvest Bucks program.)

WALDOBORO

  • Copper Tail Farm - Sign up by May 1st, pick up is at the farm stand or at the farmers’ market in downtown Brunswick (Tuesdays and Fridays), or Brunswick Topsham Land Trust Farmers’ Market (Saturdays).

  • Spears Farm - CSA balance can be used at their Waldoboro and Nobleboro farmstands and the two spring-fall markets they attend in Brunswick.

WHITEFIELD

  • Fuzzy Udder Creamery - Pay in advance for cheese and yogurt purchased over the course of the year - then just pick up at the farmer's markets they attend or at their farm.

STATEWIDE

Maine Senior Farm Share Program

The Maine Senior Farm Share Program is designed to increase access to local food for low-income seniors. It is a $50 CSA share, the details of how the CSA works vary by participating farm. Sign-up is done with the farm, the 2021 list will be available on April 1. CSA sign-ups begin in April.

Eligibility

  • Be a Maine resident

  • Be 60+ years old, or 55+ years old if Native American

  • Meet the 2021 Income Guidelines:

    • Maximum of $23,606/per year for a one-person household; or

    • Maximum of $31,894/per year for a two-person household
